Barbarians is a German Netflix Original historical drama created by Jan Martin Scharf and Arne Nolting. Season 1 debuted on Netflix around the globe on October 23rd, 2020.

In the period since its premiere on Netflix, Barbarians has become the most popular German Netflix Original series (it was the overall but was eclipsed by Blood Red Sky) (it was the overall but was topped by Blood Red Sky). Before Netflix ceased using the 2-minute statistic, Barbarians was the sixth most-watched non-English language title on Netflix with 37 million views logged in the first 28 days. Barbarians Season 2 Renewal status

Netflix has officially renewed its service. (Last updated: 10/11/2020) Current status: Renewed. Only a little more than a month after the series launched, Netflix gave the sitcom its approval for a second season. Some of the European Netflix Twitter accounts, such as those in France and Germany, were the first to break the news.

Barbarians season 2 release date predictions

There has been no official announcement of a release date for the second season of Barbarians, although it is expected to be released in 2022 on the streaming service. Given that season 2 of the show has only recently begun filming, fans shouldn’t anticipate the series to return to Netflix until late in the calendar year.

Barbarians Season 2: plot

In season 2, Robert Maaser will reprise his role as Odvulf, and Murathan Muslu will take on the role of Maroboduus, the Marcomanni King, who will be the show’s main villain. Aulus will be played by Andrea Garofalo.
