Police are looking into a deadly shooting in the West Valley that was caused by an officer.
It is believed that the incident took place in the neighborhood that is bounded by Eliseo C. Felix Jr. Way and Riley Drive, which is situated close to the intersection of Dysart and Buckeye Roads.
In a statement, the Avondale Police Department said that at around 12:30 p.m., they got a call about a crime that had happened nearby. A section of the statement read –
“An Avondale Officer who was responding to the call located a subject nearby matching the description and attempted to make contact with the subject.”
“During this contact, the officer was involved in a shooting.”
Officials say that the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene by medical staff.

At the same time, a police officer with minor injuries was taken to the hospital. A part of the statement said –
“The scene is secure and there is no danger to the public.”
Officials have not named anyone in connection with the incident.
