Are they making a Harley Quinn season 3? All Latest Updates!

Fans of the DC Universe are ecstatic about the release of The Batman starring Robert Pattinson (The Devil All the Time) and Zoe Kravitz (KIMI), along with Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.

In the short time since they made their changes to the franchise’s direction and marketing tactics, DC and Warner Bros.’s efforts have received excellent feedback and seem to have reignited interest among fans. This has made the wait for Season 3 even more excruciating for fans of DC’s Harley Quinn.

Production for Season 3 of Harley Quinn began in September 2020, with showrunners Patrick Schumacker (Abbot Elementary) and Justin Halpern (Powerless) revealing that the next chapter in the tale would be completed by the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022, respectively.

When will our favorite female anti-heroine and her band of misfits, who have been off the air for three months already in 2022, make a triumphant return to the screen? That’s all we know about it at this point.

Harley Quinn Season 3 Plotline

“In the third season of this biting and hilarious animated comedy series for adults, the chaos and craziness keep going. Harley Quinn (Kaley Cuoco) and Poison Ivy (Lake Bell) finish their “Eat. Bang! Kill.” tour and return to Gotham as the new power couple of DC villains. With the help of King Shark (Ron Funches), Clayface (Alan Tudyk), and Frank the Plant (JB Smoove), “Harlivy” tries to become the best versions of themselves while also working toward Ivy’s long-held goal of turning Gotham into an Eden paradise.”

The third season will pick up where the Eat, Bang, Kill Tour comics left off. At the end of the last issue, we see Harley and Ivy running away from Commissioner Gordon and heading for Central City (the hometown of Barry Allen aka The Flash).

Harley Quinn Season 3 Release date

In a press release, HBO Max said that the third season of Harley Quinn will start on Thursday, July 28. (opens in new tab). On July 28, three episodes will come out, and after that, one will come out every Thursday.

Even the people who made season 3 of Harley Quinn don’t have a clear answer. Showrunner Justin Halpern told the Masters of None podcast, “I think it will probably come out at the end of this year or the beginning of next year, just because animation takes so long.” That means it will be either late 2021 or early 2022.

He also said that in season 3, we’ll get a separate Joker episode and spend another episode in a character’s head. Oh, and Harley Quinn will only be on HBO Max (which is on all the best streaming devices). Deadline said that the show will not be on the DC Universe service, where it was first shown. This service is getting rid of its original shows.

Schumacker and Halpern, who are in charge of the show, have both said many times that fans can expect to see more of their favourite DC heroes and villains in Season 3. So far, Nightwing, John Constantine, the Mad Hatter, the Clock King, and Amanda Waller have all said they will be there.

But the show has had a lot of great guest stars, like Frankie Muniz (from Malcolm in the Middle), the late Jessica Walters (from Archer), and Jameela Jamil (from The Good Place), so whoever the showrunners choose is sure to surprise and excite fans.

Back in March 2021, Schumacker hinted on Twitter about a special guest cameo. When that tweet came out, some people at Collider thought it might be someone from James Gunn’s Suicide Squad. Since then, it has been confirmed that James Gunn will play himself in the new season.
