In a three-vehicle traffic crash on Sunday on northbound Interstate 15 at State Route 76, an adult and a baby were pronounced deceased.
According to Capt. John Choi of the North County Fire Protection District, four patients—one with serious injuries and three with minor ones—were sent to the hospital.
I-15 southbound in Fallbrook was briefly shut down south of Mission Road due to a blockage in all lanes. After the collision, traffic on I-15’s southbound and northbound lanes was backed up for hours.
All lanes of traffic were available on southbound I-15 just north of SR-76 at 11 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Sunday crash at 3:14 p.m. involved a black pickup truck, a white Tesla, and a black sedan.
According to the CHP, the black sedan was smoking and the pickup had toppled, landing on its roof. The cause of the collision was being looked into.
