“I’m so sorry I can’t be there tonight,” Jackson shared. “I hate to disappoint my fans.”
In the days leading up to the concert, the country music legend reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
The show will be rescheduled, but the new date has not been confirmed yet. All concert tickets will be valid for the new performance date.
Jackson is currently performing on his “Last Call: One More for the Road” tour. The tour, which was launched on June 24 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Mississippi, is sponsored by Jackson’s own Silverbelly Whiskey.
This tour will be Jackson’s first major one since he announced in the fall of 2021 that he had been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease.
“I’ve always admired my heroes like George Jones, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride who just played as much as they wanted to, as long as they could,” Jackson previously shared. “I’ve always thought I’d like to do that, and I’d like to as long as my health will allow,” he notes, adding with a smile, “I’ll try to do as much as I can, but if I’m comin’ your way, come see me…”
This October 8 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will be the final stop on the 30-city Last Call: One More for the Road Tour. The three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year made pit stops in various locations that he hadn’t played in for years on this tour.
The country legend will give $1 from each ticket to the CMT Research Foundation. In addition, the kind CMTRF contributors and board members will each contribute $1 to double the initial donation.
