At Least 3 People Have Died In A Winter Storm Crash In Ohio That Involved 46 Cars

The officials are warning that visibility is poor as the whiteout conditions continue. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on the Ohio Turnpike in the afternoon on Friday involved at least 46 vehicles. The crash in Sandusky County left three people dead and many others injured, according to state police officers who responded to the site.

Rescue efforts are being coordinated by a number of different agencies from across a number of counties. The individuals who were engaged in the collision are currently being transported by bus to a nearby facility in order to get warm.

The OSHP has verified that the weather played a role in the accident. Avoiding travel is strongly advised by the relevant authorities. A considerable reduction in visibility can occur when snow is blowing around. The Oregon State Highway Patrol’s Sgt. Ryan Purpura advised motorists who are required to travel to “take some precautions: take it slow, be patient, increase your following distance, and always belt up.”
