Netflix released the first teaser for The Witcher at the San Diego Comic-Con in July and the first full trailer in October.
Since then, fans of the books and video games have been eagerly waiting for it to be on the streaming service and on Friday, December 20, the season was available to watch.
This new series is based on the Polish novels by Andrzej Sapkowski where monster hunter Geralt (played by Henry Cavill) struggles to cope with being surrounded by people often more wicked than the beasts he catches.
Sapkowski worked as a creative consultant on the show and was happy to see his books being brought to life.
In a statement, he said: “I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing.
“I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”
