Former Emmerdale actor Leah Bracknell died in September this year after battling stage four lung cancer for three years.

Leah played Lesbian Zoe Tate in the soap for over 15 years, and her death from lung cancer was announced earlier today by her manager.

Her family also confirmed in a statement, the news of her death “with their deepest sadness”. And went on to say that Leah embraced life and faced her illness with positivity.

She kept a blog about her life and battle with the disease â€˜something beginning with C’ and in one of her last posts wrote about how she just wanted to go back to normal and the simple pleasures of just being alive, counter posed with the delights of a Devon cream tea.
