According to police, a shooting on Saturday during a narcotics exchange outside a shopping center in Los Angeles left one person dead and three others injured.
Around 3.45 pm, an argument involving a drug trade broke out between several suspects in a parking lot near Vanowen and Fallbrook in West Hills.
Police did not right away identify the deceased man. Three people shot were taken to a hospital and given non-life-threatening medical attention. After being discharged from medical care, at least two of those may be charged, according to Hamilton.
Investigators think gang members were involved in the shooting, and three individuals were in jail as of Saturday night, he added.

According to Hamilton, police found two weapons on the scene. “We believe that all of the people involved in this dispute have been identified and we believe we have them either in custody or we have them where we can provide them medical care,” Hamilton said.
According to Hamilton, a car with its windows shot out was noticed and followed by an LAPD helicopter as it left the site.
“That suspect became involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision where they injured someone else and continued fleeing the area,” Hamilton said.
“They subsequently switched vehicles and the air units saw them switch vehicles and directed ground units to the location where the suspect was fleeing.”
A pursuit lasted two to three minutes before the vehicle pulled over. Hamilton said that a female driver and the male suspect who fled the shooting scene surrendered and were taken into custody.
Non-life-threatening injuries to the victim of the hit-and-run accident were treated.
